LAGREE CERT AND MENTORSHIP FAQS ANSWERED!
We’re excited that you’re considering taking the next step in your fitness career and teaching Lagree and potentially with Body Politik! To help you get a clearer picture of what to expect from our Certification and Mentorship Program, we’ve put together answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.
01
Will I be ready to teach my own classes after the certification weekend?
In our experience, more practice is needed after just completing the certification weekend. Certification gives you the tools – mentorship helps you apply them. Many participants in our program begin teaching shortly after completing both components.
02
What does the Body Politik Mentorship Program entail?
Our Mentorship program pairs you with experienced instructors who provide hands-on guidance, personalized feedback and real-world teaching practice, bridging the gap between certification and confidently leading your own classes.
Over the course of six weeks, you’ll begin teaching your own blocks to fellow participants, with support and oversight from lead mentoring instructors on the Body Politik team. Each week builds progressively, delivering bite-sized, digestible skills that layer into a strong, confident teaching foundation.
By the end of the program and in the final two weeks, you’ll advance to teaching mock classes and ultimately a Community Class, which serves as your final audition.
03
What days and times does the mentorship meet?
We offer approximately 5 timeslots per week for trainees to practice teaching, with a variety of days and times to accommodate different schedules. Many of our participants work full-time, so we make sure to include weekend options.
A typical mentoring schedule might look like:
Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 1:30-3:30pm, and
Saturday and Sunday from 3-5pm
*times may vary slightly as we are working around our group class schedule
04
How often am I expected to participate in the mentorship program?
You are not expected to attend all sessions or even every week. But we do recommend aiming at attending one to two sessions a week on average. We have found the participants that are able to commit to a consistent schedule of showing up have the most success in their auditions.
05
Do I need prior fitness experience to participate?
While a background in group training is helpful, it’s not required. Our program is designed to meet you where you are and build your skills from the ground up.
06
What is the audition process like to teach for the Body Politik team?
In many ways, the mentorship program is part of the audition process. It allows us to assess your level of commitment, punctuality, openness to feedback and dedication to growth.
Your formal audition takes place at the end of the 8-week program with a Community Class. This is a complimentary class offered to our community and serves as the final evaluation of your readiness to join our teaching schedule.
07
Do I have to teach for Body Politik to participate?
Great question and the short answer is no, you do not need to teach at our studio to participate.
Our Certification and Mentorship programs are open to anyone looking to deepen their understanding of the Lagree Method and grow as an instructor, regardless of where you plan to teach. Many participants join simply to refine their skills, gain confidence, or bring what they’ve learned into other studios or fitness settings.
While there may be opportunities to teach with us after completing the program, there is absolutely no obligation. You’re welcome to take the experience and apply it wherever it best supports your goals. We would have you complete the 6 weeks and not move on to the mock and Community Class portion of the program.
